Shawn Davis joined News Channel 11 in August 2005 as a news/sports photographer.

Shawn grew up in Bristol, VA and attended Virginia High School so the TriCities region is a familiar place for him. Before coming to News Channel 11, Shawn attended college at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. He graduated from Tech in May of 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. While in Blacksburg he worked for Blacksburg Public Television’s Virginia Tech News as a Reporter, Photographer and part time Anchor. He also volunteered his time to the student run television station Virginia Tech Television as a sportrs reporter. Shawn has also done some newspaper work. He wrote some local sports stories for the Montgomery County News Messenger in Christiansburg, VA and has written some Virginia Tech sports stories for the Bristol Herald Courier.

In his spare time, Shawn closely follows all Virginia Tech sports especially football. He is hoping for a Virginia Tech/Tennessee football meeting at the Bristol Motor Speedway in the near future. He is a fan of all sports particularly football and NASCAR. In his spare time Shawn enjoys playing football, basketball, and Frisbee.
